| The facility at Whittaker Creek. This is a fish trapping area that is used with ODFW to gain statistical data on the returning Steelhead. It is also a collection point for eggs and milt for hatchery projects. |
| This trapping facility is a temporary structure in the heart of the Whitaker Creek Camping ground. When the Steelhead are no longer returning to spawn for the season, the trap is removed and a temporary dam is put in place to provide a nice swimming pond for the camp ground. |

Hard work, but lots of fun too. |

Nice net work! Mike Stratton and George Westfall. George is our state Marine Biologist. We work very closely with the ODFW to insure that we maintain a responsible hatchery program. The quality of our fish is very important to us and to future generations. |

For the year 2003 we will not be operating the Whittaker Creek Trap as part of our Chapter work. The Florence S.T.E.P. will take over. We do, however, have volunteers that will be working with the Florence S.T.E.P. on an Individual basis. We will be concentrating our effort on our new Letz Creek Trap.
