Letz Creek Hatchery

The Letz Creek Hatchery is our own "Volunteer" Steelhead raising facility. We are currently raising Steelhead to be released into Letz Creek in April.

Circular raising tanks

These are the circular rearing tanks. It is the second stop for the steelhead. This year we started with three tanks when the fish were first brought from the hatch house. As the fish grew we divided the fish and started another tank. The fish remain in these tanks until it is time to finclip and take them to the pond to grow into smolts and be released into Letz Creek to start their journey down the Siuslaw River to the sea.

Dreams of three years from now. Fish on and Tight lines.

These fish are fed daily by our group of volunteers. We spend a lot of time and effort with our fish for the enjoyment of the Oregon fishing community. We believe that it is time and effort well spent.  Donations to this program gratefully accepted and are tax deductible.

*!*!*!*! OUR BABIES ARE COMING HOME !*!*!*!*

This is the starting count of the returning fish we released directly into the river system from the pond two years ago. Our first year return was good. This year promises to be better!

The 2004 return is expected to be outstanding. This run will give us a good indication of how well our program is working as we enter a new phase. Please keep watching for updates.
