2006 Presidents Message - Gabe O'Campo
So we are finally to the full swing of the salmon run for this spring. We are finally seeing good numbers of fish both salmon and steelhead coming over the falls. We have one of my favorite speakers coming in this month to do a presentation to our chapter. Phil Pirone of Pro Cure Bait Scents is going to be showing off his latest line of super scents. This will serve to get us ready for those Springers in the rivers, and the Kokanee in the area lakes that we will be chasing later in the season. His line of products will also help to improve our fishing at the up coming Big Brother Big Sister event on the June 10th. By the way, if you have not yet signed up for this event, it is some thing that you do not want to miss. It is often the first time that some of these kids have been fishing and the joy on their faces when they get that first fish is priceless.
We have had a great egg collection this winter, and we currently have quite a few eggs in trays out at the hatch house. We will be very busy when it comes time to clip these fish. So we will need feeders to schedule with Mike Blackmarr about when they can go out to take care of our fish.
About the membership drive, we have been told to extend that membership drive at the 10 dollar rate till November. So you still have time to get your best buddy out to one of our meetings and join for the lower rate.
This next meeting will certainly be the one to come to. Phil is a dynamic speaker, and his products are first rate. He is also very generous in offering our membership his products at a discounted rate. He then turns around and give a percentage of his total sales for the evening back to the chapter. So please make plans to come out and pick up your favorite Pro Cure egg cures, or oils, or bait sauce. Plus you get to hear one of the best in the business talk about something that he truly loves and believes in. See you at the Eagles Aerie on the 7th of June.
