August 2006 PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE – Gabe O'Campo
It is very important that all of you realize that we have set the annual awards Picnic for Aug 9th instead of the First Wednesday of the month. If you go to the Eagles Lodge you will be very lonely. I had made the reservation for the site back in February, so we will have the event on the 9th instead of the 2nd. This gives us a little more time to plan for the Picnic. So let say the last names A through I bring Entrees, J through R bring Salads and S through Z bring a dessert.
Al Bazzi has offered to show us his barbequing skills on Hamburgers and hot dogs this year. Please no Chips. And also please leave the pets at home. We have lots of people to recognize this year for all the volunteer hours that all of you have put in this past year.
We also have a couple of work parties planned in the near future. Please step up and help us out with some of this work. The more people that can come out to these events the quicker these things can get done. We will have some fish to clip in the next few weeks. We have started to fill the pond and we will have to move the fish into the pond after they are clipped.
We will be attending the Association Delegate Assembly by the time we meet again on the 9th of August. This is the meeting where a lot of the decisions are made about how this club works. If you would like to attend, let me know before the 3rd of August.
A very special thanks to Dale Clift for all the time that he puts into getting this newsletter out to our members. I would also like to appreciate Doug Dewald for the hours that he puts in getting this in the mail to all of you.
Hope to see all of you at Armitage Park on August 9th.
We will have dinner at 6:00PM, and the award presentation will begin at 7:00PM. We will be meeting at the pavilion “J” which is the large covered seating area on the other side of Coburg Road. (SEE MAP INSERT)
